Subject: [Masjid Tucson] Submission weekly reminder In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful Peace be upon you, Freedom of Choice [Quran 33:72] We have offered the responsibility (freedom of choice) to the heavens and the earth, and the mountains, but they refused to bear it, and were afraid of it. But the human being accepted it; he was transgressing, ignorant.* *33:72 The animals, trees, stars, etc. took advantage of this most gracious offer. See Appendix 7. We value independence, the freedom to make our own choices, at an individual and national level. As humans we believe we can make better choices for ourselves than someone else can. But do we make the choices that truly benefit us? To appreciate freedom is to take responsibility for it and to make choices, with God's help, that are good for us notwithstanding the tests and temptations that may come way. The good choices set us free in this life and in the eternal Hereafter. What choices will we make today?
